The Second State level Tamil Ilakiya Conference was held on Sunday, 13.12.2009 at Sathak College of Arts & Science, Solinganallur, Chennai.  On that occasion great educationists were honoured.  Among them  Haji M.J.M Abdul Gafoor Saheb, Secretary, Jamal Mohamed College, Tiruchirappalli was honoured and presented with the Samuthaya Sudar (Light of the Society) Award by His Excellency Surjith Singh Barnala, The Hon'ble Governor of Tamilnadu.

The Award recognises his 60 years of long, dedicated and sincere service in promoting Value Based, Skill Oriented and Quality Higher Education in Jamal Mohamed College, Tamilnadu.

It also recognises his association with the College since 1949 even before the inception of the College and his selfless service in bringing the student strength of the College from 250 in 1951 to 8975 in 2009.

It is an appreciation of continuous sacrifices made by him in the way followed by the founders Jamal Mohamed Saheb and Khajamian Rowther.  It is a morale booster to all teachers and students of our College.

The Members of the Management Committee, Staff and Students Pray Almighty Allah for a long and healthy life to our respected Secretary Saheb.
