Part - II of Management Accountancy Examination in 2006.

The Institute of Cost and Works Accountants of India has awarded B.N. Ganguly Cash Prize and K.K. Duta Gold Medal to Jamal Mohamed College Principal M. Sheik Mohamed for completing Part-II of Management Accountancy Examination in 2006..
Commending Dr. Sheik's performance, Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje honoured him with the prize and medal at the 49th National Convention of Cost and Management Accountants in Jaipur recently.
Significantly, Dr. Sheik was the only person in his batch to complete Diploma in Management Accounting, a prestigious qualification for accounting professionals, within four years. None from south India had achieved the feat over the last decade.
Out of 133 candidates, Dr. Sheik was among the 23 to get through Part-I examination in 2003. For the next two years, he pursued Part-II. The topic of his thesis was "Activity based costing at BHEL-a case study," which he defended successfully before and experts' panel in Kolkata in 2005-06.
"It was a pleasant surprise when the announcement was made at the convention that I was the only person in the country to get through Part-II examination, though I was confident of being a top-ranker owing to the high rating given for my thesis," said Dr. Sheik, who is keen to impress upon the youth that learning must be a life-long process.
